John Atkin is an author, historian and heritage advocate who organizes and conduct tours for groups and individuals. John is also available for illustrated talks and lectures about Vancouver's history, development, planning and architecture.
Since the 1990s John has been a regular contributor to the Elderhostel (now Road Scholar) programs visiting the city where he talks on the history of Vancouver. John works with Canadian Cultural Landscapes of Quebec City to provide lectures on Vancouver and British Columbia history and is a frequent guest speaker for a number of groups including the Vancouver Historical Society, Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, Optimist, University Women's Faculty Club, Vancouver Heritage Foundation among others.
In addition to the talks John conducts bus tours of Vancouver and the region for groups such as Elderhostel, Canadian Cultural Landscapes, conventions and incentive travel groups. Bus tours can be tailored to suit your needs or John can provide a set tour.
